Hi Moey; On the front they both just say Playalong. On the sides and the back they both say Playalong with Jack's Pacific under it.

Sounds like you have the old box...I am sure once the third wave hits your Target you are able to get the new box

I went to 6 Targets today and 5 Walmarts, the Targets have the first wave of figures and the ugly beanies, but nothing new, when asked about it they said - Target.com is actually amazon.com so you can't rely on it's information saying the store has them in stock -

Walmart if they had any at all they were the first wave and in the CLEARANCE section, and were not getting the new ones!!

I have a feeling that Walmart is finished with the smurfs as well since the earlier sets are all on clearance if they have any at all! Moey, I did find one Brainy last night in Philly (had to go to Ikea and there was a Target right across the street) but other than that, the Brainys and Jokeys are few and far between

Bill, I will post a photo of the new Jakks Pacific only display boxes so you can see the difference. Also, in case anyone else is trying to get the boxes, now you have a new variation to go for

If it has the Play Along logo on it, it was from last year.
All the new stuff do not have that Play Along logo. Hope thats's helpful.

I may go to Nashville this weekend to visit their Targets to look for the beanies. I have a feeling that each box only included one Brainy and one Jokey so they will be very hard to come by

My friend from Cali told me when he was buying the Brainy Smurf
Beanie for me they had a lot of them (about four). Could of been
the same amount for the Jokey Smurf but I think they sold faster.

I think staci might be right in that walmart is not getting the new smurfs I just talked to a walmart toy worker and she said she did not see anything about them coming in... so it makes me wonder why the jakks lady I contacted said that walmart, target, and toys r us will all be selling the new items?

Also question for you guys... do you guys recall if toys r us online sold the old two pack figures? I see they are selling everything that they have in stores just not the figures and I can't recall if they ever did

I been to ToysRUs several times and not once I have seen
the 2 pack figures in their store. How sad is that? LOL

I don't think TRU sells them in the stores either. It looks to me that only Target is selling the two packs and houses, and TRUs is only selling the playsets and windmills.

Even the beanies seem to be sold in different stores..I've only found Handy & Baby at TRU and Brainy & Jokey (one of each) at one Target

toys r us does have the new house up here, I found them a week or so ago, but they only had one of the painter so the stock was not that much.

I know one target that no longer has any figures on it's shelf thanks to me grabbing the box today, but no grandma's at all and only one gargamel
Oh I noticed too that the smurfette vehicle is popping up a bit more than she was before. Can't wait to get the new colors of those

I agree with Moey mostly...except I did find Handy and Baby at Target, which I thought was odd since they are the only ones on the TRU website It would be SO much easier if everything was at ONE store and not spread out over two different places. Here's what I have found so far (sorry if I'm redundant but it's easier to summarize I think)

At Toys R Us:
The old houses [Papa, Smurfette, and Normal]
Handy and Baby beanie plush only
Playpacks [6 different ones]
Windmill
Mighty Mugg smurf

At Target:
The old AND new house colors
Jokey, Brainy, Handy and Baby beanie plush
2-smurf mushroom blister packs
Terrycloth ("ugly") beanie plush
Mighty Mugg smurf

I don't know why the distributors have to make this so difficult either, so annoying especially when you don't live too close to a toys r us,

I second that Gerda. Altho TRU is closer and easier to get to than Target and any of my three Walmarts. TRU is about a mile from my house. Target is 1 and a quarter mile and all three Walmarts are about a Mile and a half. Maybe a little farther on the Walmarts but not much. Sams is right next to one Walmart. Most of the owers of Walmart live in my town, and it has alway suprised me that the Sams store was not closer to where they live. Of course they probibly don't shop at any of these stores.

While sorting through the new smurfies, Dyar noticed that one of the wild smurfs did not have his entire hat painted green. Not sure if this was just an error on the painter's part or if some of the Wilds have a strip of white under their hats I posted photos so you could see what we are talking about

I think this is definitly a variation.

I found three of these with the white strip on the hat in Chattanooga and three with the complete green hat in Nashville (and two with the white strip in Nashville). Really interesting that they made variations

I found two Brainy and Jokey beanies in Nashville as well but not more, which makes me think they will be rare in the future (heck they already are rare). Looks to me like they put two of them in each box so it depends how fast you get to them.

I noticed the same thing with the Gargamel and Grandpa sets...So far I've only seen one per box
