Hi Psiko; The Chinese also have several other fakes out there too. 50th anniversary, Holloween (monsters) set, American indian set, And a set they call sports set it is really the Mcdonnalds Smurfs. I don't have the Easter set they put out but I have heard about them. And I am reasonably sure there are more out there. The one's that I have are pretty well done, but you can tell the diffrence. Here is a link to more about the fakes.

Well, the smurfs promotion has finally ended & the new eggs have found their way into the shops. I asked the nice lady at Schlecker whether I could have the smurfs display & she kept it back for me. Apart from having a price sticker at the top right which I can't remove it's in pretty god condition & I'm going to use it to store all of my 2008 surprise egg stuff.

The picture on the back of the display is the same as the one on the front.

Here is a picture of the one I was able to get :D

That's a nice display Maureen :-D I'm not sure I've seen that one before.

The one I have was stood on a box (about 30cm / 12 in high) in the shop. It was full of eggs in clear plastic trays in the same way that I imagine yours was. It's quite large & wasn't all that easy to carry home in the bitter cold :)

Mine was the one that they had on the shelves with about six rows of eggs in it. I saw it more often than yours :-D

In Italy they have changed promotions, but the new one doesn't involve Smurfs. :x

Hi Bill,
Have you ever ordered the fakes from China off of Ebay? I see them quite a bit and thought it would be fun to have them just for a conversation piece. But I wasn't sure about the shipping from China?

Hi StampySmurf. Check all the ebay sales some have free shipping. I got mine with very cheep shipping around $6 but because I bought in two diffrent bunches I paid twice. I see lots of them with free shipping.

Did I confuse you Tojo with I paid $6 for shipping, And there's free shipping out there? I bought mine before I realized those were fake and didn't see the free shipping. Just another note. when I looked on ebay the other night every holloween, american indian, and sport Smurf I looked at was fake. There was one from the US and one from Australia, but they used the same pic's for one's in China. I guess the China people could have copied the person from the US's pic and put it on their site but I doubt it. The prices were all way too cheap. A real set of any of these should but from $30 to $40. These were all less than $10. I think all the people that had real one's on there have taken them off becaue they were not selling.

You could well be right Bill.

The reason I posted the link though was to point out that the genuine surprise egg smurfs are now being sold in the Italian supermarkets. It will be interesting to see whether the BPZ (leaflets which are in the eggs with the figures) are different to the German ones.

I'm sure Paolo will be able to tell us if he finds them in the shops where he is.
