:cheek: thank you Carlos!
I hope, one of the three kings put a nice smurf in your shoe this evening! ( or where ever they put it? I don`t know this tradition)

Andre,
on your mirror smurf without the Schleich emblem. Do you think it was removed? I have a lot of smurfs like these where you just see the circle and always thought the Schleich emblem just wore off...never thought it might have been removed :-?

Lia, I think you should go into marking viariations as well....you are already on your way anyway if you are keeping both of these smurfs. It took me a while to get into the markings...but you wouldn't believe how my collection took off once I did

BTW....lovely mirror smurfs...I never get tired of seeing pictures of your smurfs :D

Hello Andre

And good luck, it seems we are going to miss you for a long time on the forum

Tintin
:) :)

I started and am tired already.

The problem is that it is Edinas room and she would like to get it back before bedtime. So I will place them in bags and then take one bag at a time and check when I am in the mood. But it is a start, right?

I also seems to get stuck with one smurf and then the time just flies away. :banghead:

Maureen,

I give you an example.

In the first pile you have 13 papasmurf with no Schleichemblem, but with the sign of the circle. In that pile I found no smurfs with the emblem.

The other pile has 13 singersmurfs. All have Schleichemblems. No smurf without emblem in that pile.

Wouldn´t you say it is most unlikely that the emblem only have been worn off on the papas. :o

And I think you only find these removed emblems on the old smurfs.??

So my guess is that Bully removed these emblems on the ones they sold with the Schleichmold. ???

Tintin
I think so too Frank.

But I started with this pile instead. Only 3 smurfs.
One Made in China CE and 2 W. Germany without CE.
Are there a W. Germany with CE also?? I thinks so??

Maureen,

another intresting thing regarding this is that, if Bully did that you could also check the colours. For example the the lawyer, 20016.
Schleich started with black robe and emblem. After this Bully took over the Schleichmold and removed the emblem and painted it red instead. I don´t know but it could be like that. :o

Damn Frank,

I was about to say the same with the crying smurf. You know Schleich released it with a white hanky and Bully changed it to yellow. :o

I am not quite sold on this theory. I have noticed that the smurfs I have with the worn off (or removed) schleich emblem have other signs of wear and tear as well...like rounded off feet...and it doesn't make sense to me that Bully would go thru the trouble of removing the Schleich emblem but be careless enough to leave the circle on :-? If I were to delete a marking I would either make sure the whole marking is removed..or I would put something over it (as Schleich did with the Bully marking) :-?

I agree with the part that maybe Bully didn´t remove these emblems. :D

I don´t know who removed them. :-? But worn off???? I don´t think so.

Look at these papas again. Perfect marking( W. Germany, Peyo and cavity number) under on feet and nothing under the other. You must admit it would be strange if all these had been played with in such a way that only the marking under one of their feets was worn off and the other marking stayed perfect. :o

And many times on the smurfs the markings have been "blocked" but you still see signs of the old marking left.

Otherwise the bluematerial Papas with only Peyo C and softer material goes best with the Bully theory.

Andre, I may be totally off now, but I don't think all of these Papas had the Emblem on them to begin with.

If I am not mistaken Schleich used the emblem on their first smurfs but not on later productions because usually the smurfs with the emblem are of softer PVC as well (a bit like the Bully smurfs but still different) aren't they?

Some of the Papas on your picture are of a very hard PVC, I think (I have them, too) so I always thought they never had the emblem. As to why they don't even have the Schleich wording....I don't know. When I first saw them I thought they were fakes because of the hard PVC which isn't really typical for Schleich but now I don't think so anymore :-?

If I am completely wrong, please let me know..I am working off memory (my memory has never been good) and you have the smurfs in front of you... :D

Maureen,

I agree with you regarding the thing that many of these were sold after Bully stopped with the papas.

The thing I mean is that sometime during the early years someone removed the emblem. And my guess is that it could have been during the years Schleich stopped with these and Bully started with them. And I don´t think Bully wanted to put their mark on them because they are Schleich molds, at the same time they wouldn´t like to have the emblem on the smurfs they sold???

And I don´t think Schleich added the emblem later after Bully stopped but still used the same mold???

I am just guessing here Maureen.

But take a look at these pictures. Do you think the emblem was worn off like this. ???? And worn off only were the emblem is??? Sometime during the years it must have been "blocked". What do you think???

first ones.

And remember I am not saying these smurfs are the ones Bully sold, many of themare to new I think. Just wants to show that the emblem sometime during the years was blocked in the mold.

2 more. Last ones.

It seems to me that the ones with the emblems among these are the early ones and not that common and therefore it could have been removed about then?. So when did they change this????
