And then this Maureen,

Among the smurfs Schleich started making, when they started again around 77 was guitar, latern etc.

And if you look at these piles. All have Schleichemblems. Nothing worn off.

So it is strange that they blocked the emblem on the molds only on the ones Bully used when Schleich didn´t make smurfs, right???

Andre, I may have smurfs not made by Bully with a clearly worn off emblem, but I can't be sure until I get to my smurfs.

Do you have a list of which smurfs were produced duriing which years?

I think all judges with red robe have connected feets.
Only the black ones don´t have this?? So the rare one is the one without connected feets with black robe.

And this is the way to learn Maureen.

I will probably make a fool out of myself many times here. But if you don´t question things you will never learn. :o

Maureen,

Great that you ask questions so we can sort this out, because I am not sure about this. But to me it makes sence.

And I don´t think you need a list.

All the first smurfs Schleich made, from 20001 Papa to 20022 Poet( and Smurfette 20034).
Among these the Schleichemblem is rare compared to the ones without emblem, at least among most of them.

After this Schleich started making smurfs again around 1977/78 and did not give any of there molds to Bully to mess with.

So from 20023 I think Schleich only removed the the emblem if they replaced it with the written Schleich-marking??? :-?

:) :) :) :) :)

That's what too much work will get you....you don't even know your own smurfs anymore :banghead:

I can't wait to have a larger smurf room in which all of my smurfs will be on display so that all I have to do is run in there and look at them when I need to check something

Well Maureen,

you are on your way, right? Building a new house just to get a big smurfroom? :o

I have to wait until my son ( soon 15 years old) will move out. Let´s hope he meet a nice girl( preferably a smurfcollector) and move in with her soon.

I know Tojo,

I should have got rid of them long time ago. But since I haven´t checked the normals so carefully, just bigger variations ( mainly colours), I tend to put them aside to check later all the time.
And I don´t have so much space so now when I want to check them they take a lot of space just spreading them out.

The good thing with this is that, because these are from collections from all over the world and therefore, I can make a good guess which smurfs were common and I also have many to compare with.

Fab work Andre!!

You may have solved this particular riddle about what happened to the Schleich molds when only Bully had the license in the years 1973-1976. Congrats

I have put the feelers out to as many people as I can think of to see if they can agree....

I wonder whether Schleich were re-involved in 1977 because of the big smurf push which happened the following year worldwide ??????

Postby André » Sat Jan 09, 2010 11:14 am
Thanks Martin,

I think you have a big deal in it also, because all info you are giving me all the time.

I started a new thread with the first Bully smurfs, because I think we agree on the approximate years, material and markings on those smurfs.

And regarding the smurfs released between 1977 and 1980. I would say Bully and Schleich must have been working together in some way. Because Bully sold these Schleichsmurfs from 77, for example the laternsmurf, but I don´t think we have ever seen any Laternsmurf without Schleichmarking???? :o :-?

And that is why I think Bully must have messed with the molds in some way. Because it is only on the smurfmolds Schleich gave to Bully the emblem suddenly disappeared?
But this necessarily don´t mean that Bully sold all of these smurfs with the Schleichemblem removed, because the same molds were used after Bully stopped with smurfs also. So both Schleich and Bully must have used them during some years and only Schleich when Bully stopped.

Otherwise if you look at the smurfs from Schleich articlenumbers it seems pretty simple and maybe known and obvious to most of you:

1. Schleich makes smurfs the first 22 smurfs, 20001 to 20022.
2. Stops between until 77.
3. Start making new Schleichmolds and continues were they stopped, 20023 to 20067.
4. Bully stopps with smurfs.
5. Schleich takes over the Bullymolds and given them the numbers between 20068 and 20121, in the same order Bully released them and numbered them.
6. Only Schleich makes the molds and number them from 20122 and forward.

But Martin,

there are some smurfs that is strange. My guess is the they were made sometime when either Schleich stopped with the smurfs or started with them again.

First 20047, which has moldyear 1974, but was probably not made until Schleich started again and maybe sold 1978????

And when they started again 1977 many of the smurfs have an older form and have only got the marking peyo C or Peyo C and W. Germany. Like the Sitting smurf, thinker, gardener, The smurf with coin( holding it forward), torchbearer, mailman, hockey.
Maybe these were smurfsmolds Schleich had made before stopping and released them when they started again 1977 and maybe together with Bully????? :-?
