Hi Caprismurf

I think this Mermaid Smurfette is an authentic figure looking at the mould and the markings, however the paint could of been stripped by someone. It's hard to say from the pic. Can you see traces of the old paint in any of the areas or corners that are hard to reach?

I don't think it is possible to strip the paint from a smurf without destroing it. Or at least I have never seen one...

Many smurfs sold as raws are just painted smurf with removed paint...I don´t know if yours is one of those...anyway, I love yours, caprismurf!!!!!!!!

Stripping the paint off a smurf is fairly easy actually...all you need is some nail polish remover and some patience...I've done it before when I was trying to find out how easy it would be :D

The PVC becomes brittle though so the stripped smurfs are fairly easily detected if you hold them in your hands. They just feel rough and not smooth as the genuine ones :D
