Hi Stefan,
that is very thoughtful of you. I didn't know it was 5 years today that she passed.

Her death certainly was huge loss not only to her family but also to the world of smurf collectors. When I was reading thru her letters, I was amazed how much work, time and effort she put into helping other collectors and to educate everybody, even us today.

I never met or knew her, but know that thru her letters she is living on in the smurf world and it says a lot about her that she is still one of the most respected experts on smurfs today.

May she rest in peace and may her family and friends be comforted today :rose:

Thank you again, Suzanne, for all you did for us. Without you, smurf collecting would certainly be a lot different

All of her SCCI letters can be downloaded for free here

I never knew her of course & I started collecting after she had already passed away but I have learned to appreciate how influential & important she was to smurf collectors the world over.

The SCCI newsletters are a wealth of information.

Rest in peace Suzanne.

I agree with all your words...

Have you ever thought how difficult for an american collector was to get info about smurfs 15 years ago????I think her job with SCCI ltters is a huge contribution to this crazy but wonderful world of smurfs collectors...

Her family suffered her lost but I am sure all the smurfers too. I know she would be an activ member of this forum for sure...

She passed away 5 years ago, exactly our age...It seems we have picked up her illusion!!!

REST IN PEACE
JOAQUÍN

I can only echo the sentiments of all, without the SCCI we wouldn't have the vast amount of information we have in the newsletters, and I for one wouldn't have 7 of the most wonderful smurfs in the form of the SCCI promos. May you rest in peace Suzanne
Long, long ago, deep in the forest, there was a hidden village where tiny creatures lived. They called themselves the Smurfs. They were good.

Peter met her and he wrote this article I read years ago but I have thought it could be interesting for new collectors to know all her job

That was a wonderful article to read, Joaquin. I had not seen it before. Suzanne was truly an amazing smurf collector and person with so much knowledge from what I have heard. It is a shame though that Pete didn't keep his promise to her over the years to continue her great work and take care of "her" members. At least this forum was born for collectors to help each other around the world and I think Suzanne would have approved :rose:

Suzanne and I e-mailed only a few times and she sold me a handful catalogues.
I wished I would have met her, I wished I would have mailed her more often. And finally I wished Suzanne could join this forum.

She may have said "hi" to Peyo, and I guess Peyo and Suzanne may collect smurfs in heaven.

Rest in peace

Hi smurfers all over the world,

I would like to invite you to pause for a minute and remember Suzanne Lipschitz' day of death.

Already six years of smurf collecting without you and your great knowledge, and we still miss you nearly everyday.

Rest in peace, Suzanne. :rose:

Since the article about her has disappeared from mushroom village, here is the image I created the day she died right after Pete emailed me and told me what had happened.

tho I think this better fits now with this smurfette!
