As you all know, I am in the process of moving my household into my new house right now.

I started with the kitchen which wasn't a huge problem and I ended up with more space which made me really happy.

Next was the smurf room and the problems started. The new room is about twice as large as the old one...but for some reason I have less room now than before (can't figure it out either). I don't have it decorated out yet as I want to finish the house move before I do the fun stuff, but it looks like most of my smurf stuff will stay in boxes..tucked away in the closet which is bursting because of all the stuff.

My plans are to display all of my PVC smurfs, Super smurfs, fakes, playsets and houses, but who knows if I have the room for it. Since my smurf room will also be my guest room I need to leave some space for a nice sleeper couch which I can also use to chill out in between decorating the room and working on the website :) :)

Anyway...this past weekend...I have repeatedly told myself...."Surely I DID NOT buy all of this stuff!!!!"...and "I swear this junk keeps multiplying on it's own"

Looking at my bank account from the past two years, it does look like I actually did buy all of this stuff. :banghead:

The question I have for you is simple.....Do you have all of your smurfy stuff displayed...or do you keep it in boxes as well???? (I know Bill has it displayed but don't know about the rest of you :) )

My end goal is once I have the smurfs displayed...I want to go thru the boxes again and sort them by items so that it will be easy to find them when I need to find them. I tried to do that in the beginning but ended up just putting it all together as I keep finding stuff in corners of the house I didn't even know I would be able to fit stuff in :banghead:

Yes I do pretty much have all my Smurf items on display, but that is getting harder and harder to do. I have pretty much ran all my sports memrobillia into boxes. Almost every wall that has space has something Smurfy on it. I even have 1 drawer with all of the $1 items from target except for a few items. These are either on my fridge or wall in my bedroom.

My pvc's are all on display as are my McDonalds toys & feves. My carneval medals are also on display as it would be such a shame to hide them away in a box..... The shop display is on top of a cupboard - he wouldn't fit in a box anyway :)

The rest of my stuff is in numbered boxes on top of the bedroom cupboards & there are also 2 huge boxes just with Jakks smurfs in the corner of the bedroom.

I wish I hade the space to display everything but really I'd need a much bigger house as I'd like to diplay my other collections as well....

Actually the house is big enough. 3 children take up a lot of the space though :) :) :)

This is just a suggestion, but I have 4 or 5 of some Smurfs. If I were to decide to cut back. One thing I might do is take 2 or 3 of them that are identical and put them in a box. You would be suprised how much room this will free up. For instance I have a fake as well as real Party set, Indian set, Monster set, and the sports set like the Mcdonalds Smurfs. I could put up either set and not very many people would know the diffrence. Just that alone would free up 32 spots to put more Smurfs. I have two sets of History Smurfs I know that 1 is Macau and 1 is Hong Kong but the average person that comes into my home doesn't.

I will display the shop display boxes and keep the corresponding smurfs in there, so that should save space.

Right now I don't have variations displayed because I put one of each smurfs in the wall displays, but my goal is to display all of the variations even if it's only a marking variation because it will be easier for me to use them as reference this way. That's one of the reasons why I had to put the smurfy items (non pvc stuff) into boxes. I also put most displays away except for two Maccas ones that I simply love....I will also try to display my few pixis and the ceramics and items that are unique..like a card from Norma, a smurf cup that Stace made, and three wool smurfs from Andre.

The main reason why I am running out of room is that I decided to keep the smurfs in one room and not to spread them out all over the house although I can totally see myself change my mind. For example...if I get a mantle over my fireplace, I may decide to have a little Indian smurf scene on top of that (Cherokee Indians used to live in these woods and we all have Cherokee blood in us...albeit very little is left of it in our veins :) )

I did buy clear plastic bins at Walmart for my smurf stuff so that I can see what's in what bin as soon as I open the closet...so I guess, they are still on display this way once they are sorted 8)

I think it was PVC Smurf that had some of his Smurfs in the plastic tackle boxes under his computer desk. I don't know if everything he has is in those or just his extra's. But if you number the boxes then put a letter on the drawer and again a number on the slots in the drawers you can then log where they are in your computer for easy finding them. This is how we locate our parts at the office. Maybe PVC can show you a pic of how they are. Or I think I saw them on his website.

Dear Moey,

thanks to our landlord, I am still caught in the process of decorating my sleeping room. :( Thus, I haven't displayed all my cuties, yet. :(

I had to box up some of my smurf things to make room also. I still have the pvcs on display and I have one large bookcase that I kept some toys, games, puzzles, stuff like that. I packed away most of the plush, books and puzzles.

Thanks for showing that PVC Blue. I don't actually have a lot of doubles, so mine are all displayed, but if I had to put mine away this is how I would do it.

Hope you get your smurf room sorted soon Moey :D I only have my rare and promos on display unfortunately :( Most of my stuff is split between houses in Nottingham & London as there is just too much to put into the house in London. I hope one day I will have a smurf room that I can display all my stuff in, that would be great.
Long, long ago, deep in the forest, there was a hidden village where tiny creatures lived. They called themselves the Smurfs. They were good.

Most of my stuff is on display but it does need sorting out. Other things keep getting in the way like a flood through the ceiling (broken toilet), Grandma's, friends and just not enough hours in the day! :) Can't wait to see pics of your new smurf room tho Moey. Mine are confined to certain areas but I wouldn't be surprised if they spread out over time.
