I thought there was a very big chance that we would see 4 south american teams in the semifinals. Uruguay, Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay.

Now both Brazil and Argentina are gone.

Sorry, I got a bit carried away there. No-one I spoke to before the match thought that Germany stood a chance so we were all flabbergasted!!! What an amazing result against one of the favourites!!
I was really pissed off after Germany beat England the other day especially as it should have been 2-2 at half time Oh well.

I can't believe it either...I was really torn as I wanted Maradona's Argentinia to do well and win the World Cup...but during the game today I realized I have enough German in me to feel very proud of the boys..and to cheer them on. I actually discovered my German patriotism during the England game....I know the no goal decision was horrible and unfair..but..well..the English really weren't good at all and wouldn't have deserved to win

Not sure how far Germany will go without Muller though

Yesterday, the streets were empty again...We had a birthday´s party a t a friend´s home, and wehn I arrived evryone was watching the match...

Spain- Netherlands is a very smurfy final...Some of my best smurfy friends are from Holland...but I have more friends in Spain

I have just arrived home from the city, and it is incredible...Thousands and thousands of persons at the streets (because of the final result and perhaps because of the high temperatures we have today)

I hope Spain will be teh winner, anyway...GOOD LUCK to NETHERLANDS!!!!!!!!

Both Spain and Holland won once the European title, both never won the worldcup. It is going to be a super match!
I could write a lot about this subject, but we simply have to see how this ends.

it seems the world cup have finally got you intrested in soccer???

My guess is that Spain wins after penalties!!! But I am no PulPaul, or Paul as we call the famous octopussy.The say he is right 80% of the times.

For me it is the opposite. So maybe I have a 20 % chance to guess the right winner. Even if a 50% chance would be the most logical!!

If Spain plays as they have against Germany, they should win...their main problem seems to be to get the ball into the goal

I am hoping for an early Spanish goal as this would force the Dutch to open up...and then we might just have a classic final on our hands

It will be really fun to watch the game...I got a new 50" TV (I think one of the largest you can get), and have invited Mum and Curt for lunch after church..followed by the World Cup (doubt Curt will stay though..if it isn't American Football, he isn't interested )

May the best team that day win...and hopefully, the referees can stay out of it for once and not decide the game with a controversial card or decision
