Would love a set of the Australian ones.....finally Smurfs that speak my language.

Brad, is it possible for you to get a set for Staci & me as well? I know you must have a thousand requests already, but if possible we would love a set of these as well.

Thank you

Dyar

Hi Michelle

I will go and try to find a couple of sets for you and the lovely Veronique if you would like Michelle.

I'm slowly building up contacts at every store that they sell Smurfs over here so I can ask my McD's contact if she can provide another 2 sets for you both.

I didn`t want to collect all McDonalds items, too many, too big etc, but I liked to have some Canadian smurfs with french names.
This morning, they arrived and I was surprized how heavy they are.
But very nice!
The french names are nice and it`s interesting to see the bags ( in 3 languages) Some smurfs have a paper inside, some don`t.

I read from another collector here that they saw the mcdonalds manager release for the smurfs. The promotion begins 15th September which is the day the movie is released. And the smurfs will be 2 each week for 6 weeks. So I don't know if they'll have all of them out the back to be able to ask to buy full sets. I guess if they run out of the first weeks 2, they'll start on the next weeks ones. We will see. I hope I can put together as many sets as possible. 2 weeks today to go until it all begins!

That's how it was supposed to be for America too but the McD's in our area were sold out of Papas and Smurfettes in about 2 days so had to start on the next ones. They did not go in order though - it seemed that they would give out whatever they had after the first couple of days. We always asked and were able to get more smurfs than they were supposed to have available that week :D

Hi

Here in Holland there was a contest at the McDonald's.
You had to look through a red glasses ( available at the McD ) and then you could read a riddle.............

Here the poster normal and when looking through the glasses, the contest is still on so :-D

Hi Maureen

I never seen it hanging in the McDonald's, but the lady who helped me ( perfectly ) gave me some items from the McDonald's, because the action was over. She gave me the poster and some smaller ones ( sorry no doubles )
It should have lasted untill 14 sept but i guess the smurfs went so fast that there is already no stock left..................

Great news! My local McDonalds has the Smurf toys in early!! I left work tonight and stopped at 3 McDonald stores asking when the smurfs promotion begins. I had read online that it starts the day the movie is released on the 15th. One store said next week, another said on the 19th and then on my final stop at my local McDonalds I got a huge shock when I saw the smurfs up on the menu display for the happy meal toys. So I asked for 1 happy meal and asked if I could buy 4 smurfs and she said I didn't need to buy them and gave me the 4 smurfs. Tried to get 2 of each but she couldn't find a second Hefty. So ended up with 1 Hefty and 3 Harmony to begin with. So yay! Didn't have to pay extra on these. Might be different depending on which McDonalds or who is serving?? not sure. So the collecting has began. Might have to check a few more stores over the weekend. Im guessing my local have put them out early. Maybe they've ran out of the previous toys. These smurfs are a decent size. Harmony is great. You flick a switch on his back and he sings the la la la la la song.

I think I'll convince my partner Jen that she wants a happy meal when I go to pick her up from work later tonight, hehe... Try to grab a couple more smurfs. I will do my very best to put together as many sets as possible. Hopefully I will have most of my family and friends trying get smurfs for me. So we will see by the end of the promotion how I've gone. And long term, these will be easy to pick up at markets and second hand stores and I'm sure next years toy fair in June I can pick up more there. So if you don't mind waiting I will keep collecting these.

oh and I had a cheese burger, fries and coke... old school. I haven't had a happy meal since the mid 90s probably. hehe

forgot to mention here in Australia the happy meal boxes are all standard as you can see in the photo. So there are no smurf boxes and there were no posters up or any other McDonald smurfs promotions apart from the light box menu display. But my mate at work said his girlfriend saw a McDonalds colour in activity pad or something like that in a store up North of Adelaide. I haven't seen it. Don't know why she didn't pick one up for me. Maybe these will be available when the promotion official begins. Wasn't there something like this in America? have to look back in this thread.

I didn't see any additional items released with the smurfs..but we did have posters and the usual promotional stuff that you can now find on ebay :D

We had the smurfs on the Happy Meals, on the milk and chocolate milk jugs, and also on the apple dipper wrappers :D

Hopefully, you will have more as well as the promotion really kicks off, Brad :D
