Hi everyone! :D

I have a question for you. As you know I am trying to figure out which smurfs were licensed and also try to figure out when most of the smurfs were made.

Joaquin told us the story about the CNT´s which I know think could be the correct story. I did not like that the CNT-Smurfette had a strange Peyo-marking though. But now I have found the answer for that.

The reason is that the peyo marking is the same as the one used on the Eura Spain marked Smurfette. :-D

If you check Stefans pictures Of the CNT Smurfette you see a better marking on the CNT. Also I think other collectors has this marking on CNT´s with CNT stickers. This means the company making the CNT´s used the eura spain mold in this case. Meaning the Eura Spain smurfs was made before the CNT´s. :-D

The Eura Spain marking can be found on many other figurines and so far I think these are licensed figurines. This also includes the 6 smurffigurines made with Eura Spain markings!! :-D

This is only one example with year and licenseholder.

I think peyo had these 6 smurfs made in around 1977 and as you know this was during the years Bully had the license. But Schleich had also started up again with smurfs. If these smurfs would have been made in around 1980 I would say it was impossible that another company would have been making PVC smurfs without the marking Schleich on the also! :o :-D But in 1977 it was different.

I think the Eura Spain marked ones could have been made as give aways( most likely if you ask me?? I think the spanish collectors are better judges for this? :D  )) for something sold in Spain, or sold as toys??

So the questions are these:
Did the company making the CNT´s copied the Eura Spain also, just like the Schleich smurfs???

Are the companies making these the same??? I don´t think so, but like others opinions.

Probably more questions but I have to help my daughter with her math now! :banghead:   Get back later. :-D

Is Eura Spain a company like Schleich is that produces it's own PVC toys?

If they had the license to produce smurfs as well...any idea why they stopped? Was it because Schleich received the world-wide right to produce PVC smurfs? If so, do you think these were only produced in 1977?

This is just a thought, but could Peyo actually have given several companies the license to produce smurfs (Eura Spain, Hering Brazil, Minimodels, Bully) to see who will have the best quality..and probably facilities for mass production?

If so, it's odd that he only looked to Spanish speaking and Germany companies..and not to Belgium or French ones which would have been closer to home for him? :-?
