It's interesting to see that they painted the yellow hair before painting the blue skin.

I always paint the dark colours first in case I make a mistake & paint where the light colours should be & then I paint over the mistake first with white & then with the desired lighter colour, e.g. yellow or red.

Perhaps the smurfs painters were so good that they rarely made mistakes :-?
