Just got news on Facebook that Gary Mendias-Anderson has passed away

He was a member when this forum was first established and even though Blue Cavern and he often travelled a rocky road together he was a smurf collector..and will be missed.

Rest in Peace Gary :rose:

Although I never met him he has helped me in obtaining smurfs, it is so sad to hear his passing. What a shock to have someone go so young. :flowers:

Last Christmas Gary posted a picture of a big Macy's Smurf on Facebook, the one with the finger puppets. I mentioned how much I liked it and he said he could get one for me but I said I couldn't because I was really broke. Next thing I know he has got me one of these smurfs and posted it to me, as a gift. Over the past few years I really got to know Gary, such a lovely, funny and kind-hearted man. He was always making time for everyone else even though he was ill.

Yes we had a rocky road in the early days of Blue Cavern, but Gary and I laughed about it later. He was such a generous man and he also went out of his way to be a friend to my little boy. We will really miss him.

Rest in peace Gary, all our love to Jacob and his family

I never had any contact with Gary but I did visit his website on numerous occasions & had the link saved as one of my favourites.

It's always sad when someone dies & I'd like to offer my deepest condolences to his family & friends.

Just seen the sad news.

I'm not going to pretend myself and Gary didn't have our problems but I am genuinely very sorry to hear the news about Gary.

R.I.P. :rose:

Why is it called "common sense" when it is so rare.......
