Hi,

I just noticed that Schleich used a different articlenumber on the 20454 soccerplayer from 1998, when they made the dutch keyringvariation in 2000.

The Schleich articlenumber for this item seems to be 82650 if anyone is interested.

But.... what is the number for the Dutch one without the keyring? Would you use the normal number or the special one for the keyring?

That is a very good question Stefanie

Since I have not seen any other articlenumber on the one without keyring I would give it the same as the normal soccerplayer. But if you think how Schleich has done before they had other numbers for the bundesligasmurfs for example. The rugby smurfs were made for BP and then did not have the normal articlenumbers??? The worldteams soccers could also have been made for BP?? I don´t know if they were in any Schleichcatalogues for dealers, where the articlenumbers are used.

Schleich off course has articlenumbers for all items they make but some numbers could be only used for internal use. Like Dr Dinch and Hexalotte. But for items Schleich sells themselfes I am pretty sure they always use a articlenumber.

Usually they have other numbers for the keyrings. In the 2000catalogue they use the number 50006 for smurfs with keyrings and 54600 for smurfs with keyhooks( karabinerhaken).

But we also know they sold the milleniumsmurfs. That smurf has the same type pf keychain as the dutch soccersmurf made the same year. Do anyone have any of the milleniumsmurfs with tags or knows the articlenumbers used on the milleniumsmurfs?? Regular and keychain.

Maybe it depends on how they were sold? Like the US-cards on the picture?

I can`t remember so well how that Soccerplayer was sold??
Is it possible that it first was released without keyring and later with keychain? I`ll try to find out.

well, I remember vaguely that they were announced by the Dutch smurf collectors club, but I threw away all the newspapers from that club

However, I don`t think there was a display for the small millenium keychain, someone, likely Dyar, would have it, right?

I think this is the only display for the millenium smurf...at least I have never seen a different one It would be interesting to know if this is the article number for the actual millenium smurf or if it is the article number for the box. I have seen different numbers assigned to the display boxes..I guess that's because the sellers have to order them as well

Andre, where did you find the picture you posted? I am especially interested in the smurf on card on the picture and was wondering if you have more pictures in catalogs or book of these?

Hi Maureen,

The picture is from Stefans 2000 IMPS-catalogue. You can find it here on the forum.

Regarding the cards released both in Belgium and Canada they were sold during 2000 and 2001 I believe. This could be good to know because it is so easy removing the smurfs and add new ones on these cards. Just cut the strap and add a new rare smurf and use a new strap. We have talked about that before.

So the smurfs should have the markings used then also, and only the ones sold by Schleich then could be on the cards. As far as I know!

A good reference is to check Christys variations of her belgium cards on her website. And since they then had 100 available smurfs and changed a few between the years. Also a few leftovers from 1999. That means there are a lot of smurfs you can find on the cards.

Maureen could you check your canadian cards? I believe that those cards sometimes have the sticker which says they are imported by Party Pigs? And sometimes also a made in China sticker?

Regarding the displayboxes.

I saw the displaybox 20902 at the counter with all the new smurfs yesterday. The articlenumber used then is as you say Maureen for the displaybox and 100 smurfs. So toystores can both buy the new displaybox we usually buys with 32 new smurfs. Or they can buy the counterdisplaybox with 100 "mixed" smurfs from the Schleichsortiment.

However it could be that the only way for dealers to get the milleniumsmurfs from Schleich was to at least order one box. And then that number is the only one possible for the millenium smurf. Same as W berrie did with the christmas-, easter-, st patrick-boxes etc.

So if it was impossible to buy the milleniumsmurf separate like the other smurfs Schleich did not need another number.

Here is also some intersting info for some of you.

This dealersstand for keychains were used a lot by Schleich during the 80s.

As you see they used many articlenumbers for these keychains. In this catalogue from 1985 you can see they used numbers 50004-50009. Three of these were with smurfs.

50004: Dealersstand with 40 sportsmurfs-keychains( That is the one I have )

50006: Dealerstand with 40 smurf-keychains.

I think you also could get smurfs in the dealerstand with evergreens, 50008?? Then with other figurines also??

There was also a card used for these. Then with articlenumbers 50118( sportsmurfs, 50119 ( normalsmurfs). Maybe that picture shows how a mixed display could look like???
