There is a lot about the Smurfs, and loads of pictures. It's mostly about the comics, but also enough about the cartoons. Not much about the other merchadising and the PVC though...
It's about his whole life (childhood etcetera), and hiw whole career, so also all the other things he did beside Smurfs, but as he is most famous for the Smurfs, they do get a lot of attention.
Other work mentioned is Johan and Peewit (which is an essential part of Smurf history), Benoit Brisefer (Benni Bärenstark, Steven Sterk), and Poussy (Poesie, Pussycat), and some minor other stuff. A lot is about his collaborations with other artists like Franquin (from the Marsupilami) and the people in his studio. Many of those are well known in France, Belgium, and the rest of Western Europe, but not in English speaking countries.
Here it is on
amazon France, in one of the two versions (the only difference is the cover drawing). For a PVC Smurf collector, I suppose
this version would be nicer. I have the first version though, as it was a nice gift and I couldn't choose which one of course
