I went past Kmart today and they have taken down the smurf displays that were hanging above every counter. I want to ask for one if they still have them. Have they given you a call Dyar about it? has that kmart taken them down too?

I was told at Kmart in Mandurah during the school holidays they were selling boxes of smurfs (brown boxes like cake boxes) for $12 each full of smurfs.

Also they had smurfs for sale for $2 each there! I am going to go check it out tomorrow. I hope I am not too late Also someone said they had supers there as well????? A kid told me he bought a bathing smurf in a bathtub. I need to go and check it out and see whats going on!!


I will verify this and get back to you all. Fingers crossed it wasn't just a rumour

Brad, I haven't received a call yet but I did go back in on Thursday night and just asked for another box cos Stace wanted one....the girl said "yeah no problems" since one of them was almost empty......what I didn't tell her was that before I asked her I moved a whole heap from the good box into the crappier ones so I could actually say that one was almost empty

Have a go at doing this yourselves and see if you can get lucky too

That would be great if Kmart got in supers and buildings.
Maybe if the smurfs have sold well they may order more?
I keep checking kmart incase but no sign of any other smurf items.

Were the 3-sided hanging displays still up?
I noticed they were gone the other day but didn't have time to stop.
Wouldn't mind one of the smurf boxes. Might have to see about that too.

I have never seen any of these Brad....I don't think we had them in Sydney.....not at the 2 stores I went to anyway.

O! Well this is what I was talking about. In my local Kmart above every single cash register they had these smurf displays, 3 sided (as a triangle). And they had pictured the smurf figures available I think 6 squares pictured on each side and also displayed the price. I'll have to go in and ask this week after them.

They still had the 3 sided signs up at Mandurah, Brad when I was there on the weekend.

No supers and only 2 boxes of normals left. The kid did tell me they were selling like hotcakes when he was there. There was a big display apparently and people were grabbing them like crazy.

I didn't see any of the big posters up still though. My mother-in-law knows someone who works at Kmart so I am hoping to get some stuff.

Asked today at Kmart and the displays have already been thrown into the compactor. The day they take them down that is where they go. So they are all destroyed

It's such a waste isn't it Brad. I tried to get some more of those posters but they had destroyed them earlier the same day......I wish they hadn't of done that either.....I can't believe they destroy great promo stuff like this.

Yeah, it is such a shame. And a real waste.
I remember Sanity had a smurf display back when the Smurfy Hits was released. And when I noticed it was gone and asked if they still had it, they didn't. It had been binned. It's disappointing that they create these things and then destroy them. I think a lot of video stores and even the cinemas now days sell the promotional movie posters and displays. You can put your name down for them. They are quite collectable. Shouldn't be just thrown away.

Ok I haven't read this post for a while and now I'm all what's going on ....... there' talk of super's then there's talk of signs going down and empty boxes I don't understand I was at k mart tonight and asked for a box again, and again i was told no, cause when they're empty they just fill them up again and they don't know when they'll stop selling them. I didn't look for supers I think I'll have to check out anothe k Mart too. And we had no signs with smurfs at all

To all the Waussies, Saussies, Maussies, Taussies & Quassies....do you guys have any Cyber Smurfs at your Kmarts? I am not interested in the older ones at DJs only the ones at Kmarts. This Naussie has been to 2 Kmarts here and none of them had any Cybers.....just wanted to know if you guys had them as that's the only one I haven't bought from Kmart and I wanted to see if it had any subtle diffeences to the older stock that DJs had. It seems strange that they don't have it so I am guessing it was really popular or they never got them in.

The one store in Delaware that carried smurfs (a 2 hour drive from me) has discontinued them so we should all move to Aussie to get our smurfs!!

I received a phone call from Kmart on thursday regarding a smurf display box i asked them to hold for me when they were finished with it.

I was suprised they rang as it was over a month ago i asked and left my details with them.

Anyway i went in and collected it yesterday.

Well done Rae....I guess if you never ask you never receive right? I picked up one for Stace a while back but at another store I went to they said no cos it was full of smurfs.....so I said....well can I have the smurfs and the box and then there wouldn't be any problems.......unfortunately the answer was a very dry and unamused "NO"....they weren't any fun were they!!!!
