Hi !

I thought I post this.. as it effects us all!

I received a official looking paypal email receipt for payment for a item

I've never bought!

I reacted like most would and emailed paypal.. and followed instructions!

BUT BE WARE!~ the email is also a complete fraud.! there is no

record of this transaction on my real paypal account.!

also I had to go to PAYpal and re set my password.. even that seems

scary!! here is the fake email

the KEY to figuring this out as a fake was that I couldn't cut and paste my own email! then I looked at my paypal history and there was no
transaction listed..

these fake emails hope you log in and then they steal your password!!

please be on the look out as these crooks are getting smarter!!!

its the bottom of the email that is really tricky! CLICK HERE!

that is where they get you!

as this is not on any other paypal transactions!

I almost got caught!

Hi Attom, Thanks for the warning. It sounds like this one is pretty convincing and could easily panic anyone into making a mistake. :x

Thanks. :D

Why is it called "common sense" when it is so rare.......

Thanks Attom.....this is very handy to know as it could easily happen to one of us which would be awful.

Thank you for the warning :D

Hi Attom,
I've gotten a couple of those emails a few months ago - nothing lately though...if you use Outlook or Outlook Express and just put your mouse over the link (do not click!), the real website address will show up in the bottom lefthand corner of your screen. That way you know it is not from paypal. Also paypal always addresses to your name -- not sure if this one did or not :-?

Maybe this is why I have no credit card balance.....and those 4 thousand odd smurfs really had nothing to do with it. Now...how do I sell that excuse to Mrs Dyar without being hit with something?
