Well done though....about to reach 100 sockels is an enormous effort. It would be great to see them all....even better to steal them from you before the end of The Great Australian Sockel Race concludes at the end of this month

Congrats on the number of sockels, David. I bet they look awesome all together! If the cave gets a bit squishy I don't mind looking after them for you for a while. Can you send the asap before end of Dec??

Untill I joined this forum, I had no idea what a sockel was So if you're King Sockel, I guess that would make me...Pawn Sockel, or something

It's funny how I started with these actually: I only had a few a couple of years back... maybe 2 or 3 at the most... and I had swore to myself that I wouldn't collect them... but as it was getting more and more difficult to find other smurfs I didn't have, I got slowly but surely sucked into collecting them as well!!!! And look where I am now....

But maybe I should clarify something: I do collect the different markings for the same Smurfs as well (how silly can you get).... so if you look at the pics below:



I count them as "5"... instead of "1"... I don't know if it's the right way to do it, but in my eyes, they have a different message... and if it's a different language, again they count as one more and so on...

It does add up quite quickly really...

I have asked for my 100th one for Xmas, but it may not come in time!!!

I'll try to take a picture of all of them (during the holidays!!!) That's a challenge!!

I would count them as 5 instead of 3 David....for sure

They are totally different colours, languages, messages etc. One of my Graham sockels (Beer) even has a different shade of blue even though it's exactly the same one....ok, that may be going too far but it's still a little different......isn't it?

The others are in 10 rows of 10... well one is missing actually as expected...

But you will have probably noticed the 2 at the back... I don't actually count these:

The one with a flag is a fake (yeap got caught... that was before I knew better... of course... I mean how embarassing if it was like, only a few weeks ago, euh? like really only a few weeks ago?????? well ok ok I should have known better but hey it's not my fault if I don't know my flags... Anyway that one doesn't count...

And the other... well the other is a HPH, for which I have the properly painted version as well... I only count this one as one...

I have 2 in the post though... so they should get here soon!

I just won my 43rd sockel so I am closing in...lol....actually I am nowhere near you and I probably never will be....although I imagine it must get harder to find new ones after a while. Are you up to that stage or are still finding ones you don't have all of the time?
