Hi Drunksmruf.. did not mean to upset you with the Elvis thing. Only hope to see more unique smurfs... However I do not agree that Jim Morrison, the Beatles or any other rock group is dead. Rock lives on forever...however that is for another forum...

My votes:
1) Julius Caesar
2) Cleopatra (or Lady Godiva or Joan of Arc)
3) Queen Elizabeth (two smurfettes in this batch!)
4) Charlemagne
5) Peter the Great
6) Napoleon
7) Ramses the Great
8) Shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu (this won't happen...)

:o

In fact yesterday (yesterdays...) I was going to add the Beatles to the list, but you seem to have suggested it before..... thanks

I agree totally with your list... maybe not completely with Queen Elizabeth but think she could fit as well.... However the idea of Ramses and Charlemange is superb. Ceaser seems to be an all round favorite and Napoleon would make a hit as well. The following are some more ideas:

1) Nelson
2) Jacques Costeau
3) Einstein,
4) Why not.. Che Guevara
5) Charles Chaplin
6) Marilyn Monroe
7) Braveheart
8 Well cannot leave out Leonardo Da Vinci and
9) Michelangelo Bunarotti
10) Alfred Nobel
11) Louis Pasteur
12) Galileo Galilei
13) And if the smurfs are really 'communists' why not.... Karl Marx

Maybe someone should contact Schleich about it.

:-D :D

Syd Smurf: tsk tsk tsk we have so much more in New Zealand than just sheep.. :) like the Cricket, League, Rugby world trophies and king kong, lord of the rings, narnia.. and okay international sheep racing, sheep olympics and sheep film festival. Maybe we are the only competitor, but it'll catch on elsewhere.
LOL Daryl......and yeah I know NZ is pretty cool...even just for the musos/songwriters alone :D

I would love to see a Sgt Peppers smurf which would be awesome....Syd does a pretty good Jim Morrison already though. Freddie Mercury smurf would be cool just to see the moustache/teeth on it. :)

Drunksmurf never gets upset. I've caught that Bob Dylan malaise from "Along the Watchtower":

"No reason to get excited
The thief he kindly spoke
There are many here among us
Who feel that life is but a joke"

If I ever use all caps (LIKE THIS), that's an immediate tipoff.

Actually, do you ever find it peeving when ebay sellers respond in all caps?

Example:
Me: So the total postage is $2.00?
Seller: NO IT IS NOT I HAVE NOT FINISHED WILL YOU WAIT???

Jeez. Sorry.

Hi DurnkSmurf....

That is the real spirit....... Never get upset... life is too smurfy and too short..

Regarding the list....since the sky is the limit I would add:

a) Frodo Baggins and Gandalf
b) Star Wars (Darth Vader, Yoda - can you imagine it blue, and Luke Skywalker... why not even Chewbacca) - nice customisations like KiwiSchlumpf made
c) and yes why not Dear Harry Potter.....

Hi Syd Smurf, Don't tell anyone coz its a secret, but the reason the NZ is doing so well at the moment is that we are all wearing ADIDAS under our swanys and gumboots, which as we know is an acronym for "All Day I Dream About Smurf". :D

puffuonecent: re Karl Marx, He was the first smurf made.. Papa Smurf don't you know (Tehehehe here I am stirring it up again)

Anyway some cool ideas coming through here.. keep em coming, I'm still making plans for the next batch of creations.

over and out

Hi guys, there are some great ideas being posted here. :D

Glam rock smurfs!!!!! YES. :mosh:

I would also like to see famous composer smurfs such as Beethoven, Mozart, Grieg, Bach, Elton John .................... :)

Schleich have actually asked for ideas from us (collectors) in the past, I think it was a couple of years ago was the last time. There were some fantastic suggestions, some of which have been mentioned here again but they released the soccer theme smurfs instead. Maybe they are storing up the ideas for the future. :-?

I like the way you talk there Rach :D

I think they could do all 8 new smurfs as Elton John.....with different feathers, glasses & caps....heck, they could do 800 different Elt ones when you think about it....after all, who could forget the tribute song he released about the smurfs in 1974 titled "Brainy & the Specs"?

Hey Greedy, bake it loose together
The Smurfs have a machine
That's been known to change the weather.
We'll kill the Howlibird tonight so smurf around.
You're gonna hear la-la music, inside solid walls that are round.

Say Handy & Jolly have you seen them yet
oh, but they're so smurfed out
B-B-Brainy & the specs
Oh they're so blue and wonderful
Oh and Brainy he's really smart

He's got Harmony's flutes, he gets no roots
but he likes to read it in a magazine
Oh, B-B-Brainy & the specs

And regarding this... well I think we should really come up with a list and send to Schleich or else..... we can embark on a hunger strike till they listen........(however let us begin the strike after the new year please!)

DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF THE SMURF SIDE!

Oh Poor Syd smurf.. we aren't ignoring your masterpiece.. we are all dancing on the inside.. really!! Cool lyrics. :-D

Well I started a bundle of the aforementioned smurfs last night had pulled apart 'smurf in a box' for spare parts... I have had so many smurfs in production over a long period of time and so have lost my motivation on them.

No we're not ignoring your fab song! I was just a little shy in getting over enthusiastic to a song tittled Brainy and the specs!

I thought it might give it away that I'm into him  :shhh:

I really did love those lyrics! :-D
