Do the times posted in the emails reflect the actual time in England? I'm just wondering whether I'm the only smurfer who "ain't doing nuttin" for New Years.

My dad has a five year old bottle of Napa Valley wine (a prestigious American wine region) I suggested we crack open.

His response: "Well. OK. I'll have a sip and you can take the rest of the bottle home." Wild and crazy we are. He bought the bottle in Napa Valley for $20. It's not a cheap wine, but it also isn't Napoleonic, either. On the brightside, I guess in thirty years I'll inherit a bottle of vinegar.

Hello Tim, yeah, its 11.15pm here at the moment !

That bottle of wine sounds really appealing ! Enjoy it ! :) :)

Nah, I'm in tonight as well. Had to cancel my plans as someone fell ill (not serious). I'm happy where I am though - I've got my family, lots of drink and my Brainy in a barrel.

I'm happy :-D :-D :-D

Well it has been here for the last 11 hours :D

I was at home being boring :)

I watched the Sydney fireworks on TV. I swear one day they will blow that fricken bridge up with the amount of fireworks they use.
They went NUTS 8)

Hope everyone has a great year

It's funny--the British slang for what Americans call being "hammered" ("steaming" or "pissed") both mean "enraged" in American slang.

For example:
If somebody tells you that "John is pissed and Susan is steaming" you better stay out of their way.

When Rachel wrote: "I am steaming so I am not writing any more...."

I had to think about it for a moment. "She's so angry that she can't write?"

 Happy New Year, everyone

I did go out to my friend's last night. We watched Fawlty Towers episodes on the big screen with a few people to see the New Year in. Was nice and relaxing and good to start the New year off with a laugh or two :) :)
