On Australia Day (aka Syd's birthday at my house) Boomerang are showing a 4 hour smurf cartoons marathon...possibly to celebrate Syd's birthday (most likely not). Just thought I would mention it for anyone with cable here in Australia.

I will be (not necessarily breaking copyright...just perhaps) for Jack & Syd but if they repeat the marathon on the same day or something (as they have been known to do) then I could (not necessarily breaking copyright...just perhaps) for you too Rae or Brad. If they don't repeat the shows...and you can't find anyone local who can do it then I could ask a family member to bung in a blank tape and (not necessarily breaking copyright...just perhaps) for one or possibly both of you as well. I am sure this wouldn't be any trouble as it's worth getting them all in one go like this.

Apparently I read in the newspaper a few months back that the Australian government were looking to change the copyright laws, as it is illegal to record anything on tv and also illegal to download songs onto your Ipods. I can't really remember much about the article but they were looking at changing the restrictions.

Have you even watched any eps from your dvds yet Dyar? lol
If your willing to record the marathon, then I'm interested in a copy. Although I really don't mind missing it anyway. Smurfs screen on foxtel all the time (looking at guide). Just it has been quite a wait, waiting for March for the next DVD volume.

Have I watched the DVDs yet?....um, no I haven't

I want to but I have been really busy working on a couple of projects at the mo that I want to complete and I just haven't got around to seeing them. I know Jack has seen them all and even thinks I don't like them as I never watch them. I do...but I can't sit through more than a coupel of the episodes without getting a little bored of them.....blasphemy I know. I always start thinking how cool would be to over dub the voices into something more....Syd-like I suppose. I know I know.....I should be kicked out of the forum for not watching them or saying negative things about them. I think it would be a lot more fun if we all got together and watched them as a group. Maybe someday.
