Ok do you really need a good reason to start a smurf webpage????

Here's what one "smurfer??" has to say:
I am not actually into smurfs. I'm just trying to get into a webring in hopes of getting more visitors to my homepage. Nevertheless, I think this page could be of interest to smurf fans and smurf-haters alike. Yeah, I know. "Why don't you join a webring that fits your homepage instead of making a page just so you can join a ring? My mind don't work that way...

This is one funny guy and has some interesting smurf questions to ponder:

IF THE SMURFS ARE 3 APPLES HIGH, HOW TALL IS GARGAMEL?

They say a smurf is 3 apples high. Well, I stacked up 3 apples, and measured them. It was 9 inches. Then I looked for a picture of Gargamel next to a smurf so I could compare. Turns out that Gargamel is only 15 apples high, a mere 3' 9"!!! You'd think he wouldn't spend so much time trying to eradicate the only people that could make a shrimp like him look like a giant, un-short type person..

But my all time favourite is the closeup of greedy's right elbow. If you want a laugh check it out for yourself -

LOL!!! :D

It does make you wonder though - WHY :-?

I know we used to be on the smurf webring but to be honest, we very rarely got any visitors from it and then I think it just about collapsed.

The more smurf websites the better as far as I am concerned but I think this one is pushing the limit just a bit!

lol. okay. interesting website.

Speaking of smurf websites, I have been working on my own to display my collection. Everyone else seems to be doing it so I thought I should too. I just need to borrow my grandparents digital camera now (as they have a higher quality camera than mine), so I can take photos of my collection, and close ups on pvcs. Layout and design complete. Hopefully I'll have it up at some point next month.

I have also been rewriting alot of my site and have most of it just about ready.. except for the movies bit. I have the existing movies review page with lots of customised posters. I now have a less interesting page with my customised smurfs from the movies featured off it.. Last night I started merging the two.

This is the problem I have done so much work and some bits I think are much better.. but others I'm not so sure about. and when I look at it there is so much more that hasn't been touched. I hope I haven't gone through all this for nothing. Each customised smurf (or group theme of smurfs) have there own page that show cases them better. Its just the menus of getting them there which have caused me the most problems.

I have some new things I can't wait to share with you all (although no new smurfs as such, just better presented content and new ideas).

Oh Boo hoo!!!! they had a smurfs discography on that website... I had done something similar with my High Fidelity smurfs "Top five smurf albums of all time...". :(

My smurfs of the world travel page should be a hit ... or so I hope. Should all be posted by the weekend finished or not. I'm gonna need some second opinions as I have run out of ideas (writers block or something) and need feed back as to if I should stop and revert back or keep going.
:? :? :?

Not very creative or exciting I'm afraid. "Brad's Smurf Collection". LOL
I'm open to any ideas and suggestions. I re-edited myself a new Xena Smurfette (which I've replaced as my pic - left). And also edited a new Sassette Gabriel too. They feature in my banner. I just finished listing my want list. And now I just need to take all the photos and replace the blank images with them.

I also have the idea to do a smurf website.
My idea is to compile all the covers of magazines from all over the world
in all languages. I have hundreds in 35 different languages.
This Asterix page is my inspiration, just amazing,
more than 100 different languages:

I hope to announce it this year, we'll see...

I can't believe how well the pvc's photograph with a decent digital camera! My grandpa brought his camera down today and I spent most of the day taking snaps for each smurf. Very time consuming. Now I have been editing them down to small thumbs, which I'm taking a break from now. And then there is everthing else that I need to take photos of. Managed to use my digital camera last night for the soft toys. Those came out okay.

We will look forward to see what you come up with. I always think it is great to have sites that show some of the other smurfy items that have been made available. I am sure it will be a great resource. :-D

Brad, great to hear that you have been busy and that you are getting on well with your Grandpa's camera. :D

Very time consuming.

Brad.

I was talking to Dyar the other night and we were saying how time consuming a website can be.
I think Dyar won that one, considering he has a million smurfs to take pictures of :) :) :)

I find that i have to take at least 4 or 5 pics of the same smurf or smurf item to get it right :banghead:. I 'll get this camera figured out sometime :x

That was one I wouldn't mind losing actually :banghead: :banghead:

It's very time consuming but I have also learnt a lot more by doing this so I am sure it will be the same for you too Brad. Good luck with it and I wish good luck to barrufet as your potential site does sound quite amazing. It would be interesting to view all of these magazines from around the world.
