Guys and girls,

I thought I would draw your attention to that exceptional person, Jean Béliveau and his achievement: Walking around the world for peace, a promis he makes to the children of the world.

To date he has walked over 35 000 km accross 3 continents. He is in the 6th year of his journey accross the world (He started from Canada in August 2000) and is now about half way.

He is about to enter France and soon will be in Ireland, Scotland and then in England, moving on to Belgium, Holland, Germany and so on...

Check out his website (run by his wife, Luce):
http://wwwalk.org/index.html

I just think it is a considerable achievement, so far far away from the common quests for greed or self-gratifications that I cannot help being drawn and often check where he is and hopefully meet him when he comes along our way, even if it just to provide him with a meal and a place to stay the night.

You never know you might want to do the same, or more when he comes your way!

Cheers,

David

Why have I never heard of this man? This is great!! I've walked two marathons which were tough enough (26.2 miles each in a little over 6 hours both times) but to walk around the world for 12 years?!?! He already walked by me in 2000 it looks like but I will keep track of that website since you've posted it, David :D

How funny I have never heard of this great man
He deserves great recognition for this act of total selflessness. Lets hope he inspires the nations to take note of what he is trying to promote.
Well done Jean Béliveau , we commend you. :adore: :champ:
