Is that the BIN seller, Stace as they aren't responding to my emails either.

If they don't respond to the paypal dispute I'm pretty sure Paypal just automatically refunds your money. Takes a while though.

Um...not exactly

I filed a dispute because the seller sent the package to the wrong Australian....someone in WA appartently....not Linda though. Paypal refused my complaint because the seller had $0 in his Paypal account which sounds totally wrong to me so I have blasted them with constructive insults. I have never heard of this being an issue before ($0 in paypal account) but that was the reason they said mine was denied. If that is the case then how hard would it be for the seller to empty his account as soon as Paypal contacts him about the dispute.

I hope you guys get it sorted and hopefully mine will be here next week....hopefully intact.....but it seems these brake so easily that I am expecting the worse now.

They mustn't have a credit card on file either then. I had the same prob once when a seller closed his paypal account after taking my money. I got the money back through a credit card chargeback though.

I think I will have to try the credit card option...is there a limit on how much time you have to claim as it was about 2 months ago now that I paid for this item?

Thanks

Dyar

I think there is a time limit but its a fair while from memory as I know I only lodged the paypal dispute just before the 45 days were up and it took a while for that process to go through. Would've been at least 2-3 months before I did the chargeback claim. I contacted my bank (NAB) and they sent me a link to an online form to fill out and send in. I stapled the info from paypal saying the seller was at fault to the claim so I suggest you do that too. The credit card company will get the money back from paypal so then its up to them to chase the seller if they want the money back.

I did get a rather cranky email from paypal afterwards asking why I did a chargeback instead of going through them, as obviously it costs them as they end up being liable. I just sent them an email saying yeah I did go through you and you said you couldn't get my money back!!

According to my credit union, visa allows you 6 months to make your claim Dyar.

Thank you to both....I will try to get my 70 odd euros back as that could buy a decent smurf or smurfs or dinner in a few weeks when I have overspent on smurfs again.

Sorry to hear there have been more casualities. :(

I know these are fragile but it is so sad to hear more breakages have occured. I am assuming they have been packed carefully and this damage is doen to the clumsy postal workers........ :???:

Work?....oh well I just uncross them when I come on the forum during the day and that gets me by just fine.

I opened the package and it wasn't that bad but of course there had to be some damage. There were 2 pieces that were broken which was the nose on the flute guy and the other one was the notestand had seperated....but both should be easily fixed and although disappointing that anything had to be broken I know it could of been a lot worse so I have to be grateful for that.

Does anyone know what glue I should use for these brakes?

The Notestand will be easily fixed as it's just the stand that seperated from the podium thingy....the nose that broke off will be a little more tricky cos if I stuff it up it will be really obvious.

Does anyone know what these are made of as I couldn't figure it out?

I don't know what they are made of, it had me stumped too.

As for glue find a quick drying glue. As I glued mine together it took forever to dry as the material did not soak it up too good and it wanted to stay liquified. I ended up sitting holding the pieces for quite some time before they set enough that I could lay them down.

I think the figures are made of some kind of resin. :D

Dyar, sorry to hear yours have also arrived broken. I can't believe you have all been so unlucky with these. Okay the odd breakage must occur but it seems that all the sets that have arrived lately have been damaged.

I would totally agree with Gerda about the glue. Something that will dry super fast, I would consider some type of liquid superglue. I have used this on the larger Angry resin figure and it worked really well. :-D

I think superglue is what Rae used to fix our broken ones.

Sorry to hear about your broken fellahs, Dyar :( I had to take pics of mine to send to my seller so I thought I'd post them here too...just don't get your keyboards too wet from crying :o The seller is willing to work with me it seems, so my fingers are crossed too!

Wow yours were smashed Staci :(

Mine was the same as your first picture, Papa and the music stand. They were the only 2 broken and the Papa in Trish's set.

Dyar, the glue i used was called Loctite instant adhesive... like superglue :D

Thank you for all of the advice which will be invaluable. I have about 5 broken pieces at home that need fixing and may need different types of glues (thanks Stace for the list of glues I would need for the previous broken pieces).

Geez, those are horror pics Stace....I wish that didn't happen to you and to the rest of us as well. It;s such a shame that these reasonably rare sets are becoming even more damaged over time. My sheet music stand broke excatly the same way as yours Stace. The worse thing was when I opened the box I could see the nose lying seperately....that was not a good view of the band but thankfully the rest were ok except for the stand.

Great to hear the seller is working with you Stace.....I think they should looking at the damage that was caused.

If poor packing was at fault the seller should take full responsibility for the damage as it could be avoided if you took extra special care in packing these...

Those are horrible breaks too, can't even see them being glued together :( :( :( You have my shoulder to cry on, if you can stand my uncontrolable crying :( :???:

Oh Stace, they do look very sad.

I agree with Gerda, if the pakaging was poor, I would also say the seller should be held at least partly responsible.

The packaging was definitely poor -- they were placed on top of one sheet of bubble wrap, then another sheet on top of them, put into a small box, then put into a bigger box surrounded with packing peanuts. At least bubblewrap them individually :banghead: All they needed was probably one good shake (let alone the hundreds of people that probably handled the box) to get them to break. I'd much rather have had intact smurfs than my money back but oh well :-?
