hi!

I've decided ..actually had a brain storm that I have two duplicate websites

one http://mennoblue.com/ which sadly is locked :(

and

http://www.geocities.com/attombomb7/mennoblue4.html

the later had a few more items..but the space is full on both!

obviously I need a bigger one..

but for now I decided I can at least completely change

http://www.geocities.com/attombomb7/mennoblue4.html

and put all my newer additions on here soon

so far only one page..

Hi Attom

First up let me say that the pics you chose on that page were pretty cool. I love the Gargamel, Boxer & of course speech impredimented Hogatha. :)

Do you have more space on this site? I haven't used half of the space on my one yet and I only pay about $2 per month which is amazing really.....again thanks to Rach for her help...I really can't stress that enough. I think you need at least the same type of deal I have as it would be great to see more of your collection as you have way more than I do and of course have so many that are rare and woudl of been hardly seen by most collectors so as a reference site it has limitless possibilities.....we all know you have more smurfs stashed away in cupboards, fridges, under the sofa and behind the microwave with all of those pens you've lost and can't remember where over the years. :) It would be great to see them all together and just spend a few hours checking them all out.

Good luck and keep us informed as I bet you have tons of stuff that I haven't seen before or have forgotten about that would be worth seeing again and again.

Dyar

hi dyar

thank you for the kind words,

I do have a ton of stuff..which would be nice to share with collectors

- my main site I also pay about $2 per month, but I have no clue on this
one

I think I should scrap it and start over.. as I found it a friend of mine who added alot of stuff for me locked it?? and there is no way I can add or edit or anything on that one..

also the Hogatha one is a yahoo freebie but very limited space

I think in a week or so I may want to switch companies to a site I can at least add as much as I want and try to design it myself..

ugh!!!! did I say that ??? oh!

yours sounds pretty easy? as I know you were petrified before you started all this website stuff.. and now you are a pro! and it looks fantastic!

The one I have is so easy to work that....well even I can work it :)

Your site will be amazing if you ever get to show your whole collection on there.....than again, it would probably take you 5 years to photograph and add them to yoru site.

Hiya Attom,

Heres a suggestion if you don't want to fork out any more money. You can load up your pics to Flickr and just link them to your page. Thats what I am doing with my new page even though I have paid for the new page as I don't want to host the pics on my server and take up room there. That way your site doesn't actually have the pics there taking up room, just the link.

Hi Attom, I will really look forward to see what you come up with. I love looking at your smurfs as you have such a unique collection and such interesting items.

Like Dyar says, you have chosen some lovely items to start with, I can't wait to see some more of your wonderful smurfs. :D

It is a shame that you can't access your mennoblue.com site. Do you know how you friend has locked it?

HI Rachel, thanks so much!

I have no clue how my friend locked it.. I had asked him to update it with
the smurfs I had on my Geocities site which was similar.. I didn;t know how to add them to my main site.. so he somehow took all the pages from the geocities one and put them into the Mennoblue site and
told me it was locked? I have no clue why? or how that works? but I do know I apparently am paying for tons of space that is not being used.
its a montly rate for a few dollars..
the geocities one..now called Hogatha's fakes. is a freebie small spaced
one from Yahoo..

at least I can still add to that as I erase the duplicate stuff that I had there before.which freed up some space.

Hi Attom, I am wondering if your friend has simply added a redirect from your domain name. Normally this is done through the domain registration company. I am trying to work it out as I know what a nice name the mennoblue.com is and how much you like it and it seems a shame that you can't use it as you wish. :D

HI Rachel!

if I started a new website with another server? could I not use that name >? or is the name locked with this site?

can I create a new one? and then kill that one later?

Hi Attom, I think it depends on how you bought the domain name. Did you buy it from a domain registration company or did you have it along with some webspace? I am sure there must be a way of releasing / moving it.

Looking at the "who is" there is a status message, I wonder if this is what your friend means, Attom?

status: CLIENT-TRANSFER-PROHIBITED

You could try emailing the technical contact for the people the domain seems to be registered with, their details are: -

tech-c-firstname: Hostmaster
tech-c-lastname: ONEANDONE
tech-c-organization: 1&1 Internet Inc.
tech-c-street1: 701 Lee Rd.
tech-c-street2: Suite 300
tech-c-pcode: 19087
tech-c-state: PA
tech-c-city: Chesterbrook
tech-c-ccode: US
tech-c-phone: +1.8774612631
tech-c-fax: +1.6105601501
tech-c-email: hostmaster@1and1.com

The status on mine says Locked. I know when I moved my domain name to new registrars last year I had to get the existing registrars to unlock it first and then I had to be able to receive email to the address I registered it with. You used your grubby* something email address and if you can still get mail on that account then I would have thought you can move it.

You can check your details for yourself by looking it up here

hi Karen!

thanks so much! I'm still translating the above in my mind,
but I do still have that old email and I get newsletter junk from the
host all the time..

I will try to contact them and see if they can figure it out ?

I will let you know what happens!
