Here we go again, another question.... :) :) :(
I am sick today and can't go to church, so I thought I'll do the next best thing and take my time scrolling thru Dyar's website. :morehelp: :-D :-D .... so hours and hours later, I have a question about the lifeguard smurf, :-? :-? :-?
The boxes of this super smurf do not show the flag, however all the variations have it and I bought mine with the flags also. Are the flags official smurf items or were they added later on? Why do none of the boxes show them? :???: :???: :???: :banghead:
I really only like this super smurf with the flag, but I am confused because the boxes don't show them. :-? :? :-? :?

P.S.
Dyar, this has to be one of the best websites on smurfs, if not the best.. I love it   :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

Well, on to Rachel's website now.............. :pc2: :morehelp: :tea:

The flag is an official accessory that was produced with the lifeguard super and was sold with every one of them. I have never noticed that the flag didn't appear on the box so it was an interesting question to ask.

Thanks a lot for the nice words.....and I bet you love Rachel's site as well as that was the inspiration for mine and she even got mine started as I was such a doofus when it came to anything to do with websites. Maybe you can get one started yourself when you are ready as a lot of here now have websites which is always good to see what people have and what they need or are after for their collections.

yes, I love Rachel's website... I think it was thru that one that I found this board... :hiya:
I have just finished looking at the Smurfy Facts, and I feel like I went to smurf school learning about all the different fakes and markings..... :-D :D

Of course I had to look at the Oesi-Schluumpf website and that site is hilarious :sofunny:  :rolf: (I know I misspelled that word, but remember I am sick today)

I couldn't agree more. I always loved looking at Rachel's website to see the variations of the smurfs & because of all the great pictures :D I find Dyar's website an even better reference now simply because he has so MANY variations - unbelievable :D I still look at both websites regularly & they give me inspiration to continue collecting :adore:

Now, the smurf fever has a firm grip on me.... :banghead: :banghead:

I have even won some ceramic smurfs lately and are now starting with the sockels..

Thank you for all the nice comments guys. :tiphat:

Sorry to hear you are not well Maureen but I always find smurfing the web and looking at smurf sites always makes me feel a bit better.

That is interesting about the Lifaguard super, I had never noticed the box picture missing the flag either. :o

There are a few of the super boxes that show either different variations to the smurfs that were actually released but these are mainly colours so it is interesting to note this difference. :-D

I totally agree with you..so far I have not bought any Halloween ones..I saw them in the shop near me but even though I am addicted to smurfs

I just couldn't spend the cash, I prefer the older ones.

and I also got hooked on smurfing..from browsing collections a couple of years ago.. or should I say it got me more addicted! I loved seeing all
those cool smurfs people have found.. and its always so interesting seeing things you have not even known existed...

did you see anything that grabbed you?

It sounds funny now, but the first time I saw the piano smurf on ebay, I nearly fell of the chair. I thought it was the cutest smurf I had seen...... I was outbid, because back then I didn't want to spend more than $15.00 on one smurf (that definitly has changed), but I started looking for smurf websites to see what else is out there........ :D :-D

Can you imagine growing up in Germany with smurfs and not really knowing there are super smurfs? Well, I knew about them, but I looked at smurfs as toys and didn't want to spend more than 2 or 3 marks on them.... :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Looking back I know I could have saved me a lot of money now :( :(

However, :backtotopic:
about the life guard smurf... I have seen one German seller selling them without the flag, and the seller seems legitimate, so I just wasn't sure... but I didn't even know there were different flags until I saw them this morning on Dyar's website. :-? :-?

The first Lifeguard I ever bought came without a flag and I didn't even know it was missing one until a bit later. I still have that Lifeguard Stand but I let Syd sit on there with his flag in the back so he can have an excuse to try and save any Smurfettes that are drowning.....even if they are still on the sand.

even if they are still on the sand.

I bet ist's not easy roller skating on sand  They wouldn't stand a chance against Syd :o

The problem is that Syd doesn't stand a chance against the Bodybuilders and male other athletes that kind of kick sand in his face....he's a hopeless romantic....and I seriously mean hopeless.
