hi dyar!

is that red bucket a variation?
The red bucket is interesting. I have the original Kwak Well that I bought last year and it has a dark brown bucket with the same grooves and look as the smurf one which would have to be the authentic one. This red bucket is totally smooth on the outside and doesn't have the same features as the Smurf or dark brown Kwak one so I would say it's from elsewhere. However the red handle is identical to the smurf/Kwak ones so I have decided to keep it as a variation/fake just for something different. Hopefully I will find out which item it originally came from but in the meantime it's the same size as the normal ones and fits this item perfectly so I will hang onto it for the sake of it.

Here are the items I got today....although there were 6 packages which sounds impressive a lot of them only had one item in them so it wasn't a huge haul but still some nice items anyway.

Here are the pics:

Package 1: I just wanted the Alderbrook Smurf from this lot
Image
Package 2: A common clown sockel but one I didn't have yet
Image
Package 3: All types of junk in this one cos it was cheap :)

Package 4: A smurf video
Image
Package 5: A couple of poseables
Image
Package 6: My first Singer sockel

There was nothing too amazing in this lot but there are still some nice items and a chance to build up some spares again as I've had hardly any since I sold stuff on ebay a few weeks back. I am still expecting about another 9 packages this week and one of them is quite special with lots of goodies.

More lovely items.

Having just read another post I have to ask - why are you having smurf packages delivered to work rather than having them sent home where Mrs Dyar is? Are you scared????????????? :scared: :winks:

Why is it called "common sense" when it is so rare.......

Hi dyar

from what you describe above..I'd say its probably a real one , just maybe testversion or special sample one.. its way too close to not be
one..if the handle and size match..
I'm not aware of other sets..other then Kwak!
I think its a great find! lucky you!

Having just read another post I have to ask - why are you having smurf packages delivered to work rather than having them sent home where Mrs Dyar is? Are you scared????????????? :scared: :winks:
No not at all.....well maybe a little bit :) There are 2 good reasons for this:

1. Mrs Dyar isn't always home so packages are often left all day out the front of my house and I don't just mean the front door (which would be ok). I have found packages 2 days later (cos they were found on a Sunday) on the footpath outside the front of my house or just left on the wall or gate. You should see some of the expensive items I have bought in the past that were found on the footpath and not even close to the letterbox. I just couldn't afford the risk of losing certain items and since I have lost packages over the years this may well be why.

2. The other reason is if I am buying a lot of items with some being very rare and very expensive then I don't want to hand out my home address to anyone and everyone I deal with especially people who live in the same city as me. There is a good chance that nothing would happen of course but I think as my collection grows it doesn't hurt to keep my home address private just incase instead of advertising it on ebay. I still sometimes use my home address with some people but it is a risk that the packages will be lost that way so I prefer using other addresses these days.

I don't know Attom, it's too hard to say but the logical thought would be that it's from somewhere else. I will post a close up pic of the 3 types (smurf, kwak & the red one) for you to see. I decided not to add it to the site but I may do so at some stage.

Other than that I received a very nice package today that I have been waiting for which is full of goodies like the blue based PVC Gold Smurf, Body & Fitness promo, Carl Zeiss keychain, several raws, several fake raws including the super Weightlifter (but I need a set of weights to go with it if anyone has any for a trade), several fakes including the CNT Papa Captain with black telescope, supers and some other items that are kind of cool like those smurf heads that are pencil toppers. I only had a quick look this morning but I am dying to get home to sort through them all tonight. I also received some of those 1 piece old kinder smurfs in another package and overall should have some smurf doubles to trade and sell again which is always handy or useful.

Aaaaagh. :cheer:

That all sounds like sensible ideas and there was me thinking that

a). You couldn't take any more beatings :-x

b). Really you just like showing your work colleagues your newest smurfs :champ:

I am looking forward to seeing pics of the latest parcel, sounds like some very nice smurfs in there and whilst I am going through a drought due to a lack of smurf funds I can drool over yours. :neener: :winks:

Well it was quite an impressive package and a lot of fun to sought through. These are the new additions to my collection that were worth noting:

NORMAL VARIATIONS:

1. Gold Smurf (blue PVC) this is the rarest variation and I thought for sure it wouldn't be the right one as I have been tricked before but thankfully it was. I think that just about completes the variations of this smurf now.

2. TENNIS PLAYER (20093) WITH BLUE RACQUET - ok this is probably not an authentic variation but it's still nice and I got it for an absolute bargain compared to the prices I have seen them being sold for recently....I think it was about 5 euro which isn't bad.

3. POLICEMAN - with keychain

4. STORK WITH BABY - W Germany CE, light brown Nest

5. FENCER - dull dark yellow Mask with 6 rows - I only have 3 variations of this one so I need heaps more to get even close to getting all of the variations.

6. POLE VAULTER - This one wasn't mentioned in the DSK. The markings are W Germany 79 (not CE) but it has white PVC whereas the DSK only mentions red & blue PVC ones for these markings. I just need the red PVC one now but I have never seen this one.

7. DOCTOR - Now this is a strange one and I have thought about sending this to Rach for closer inspection. It has the cord around the back of the head painted red (I have the fake CNT version of this one too) but this one also has a red Head Lamp with markings W Germany Schleich S. Now the obvious thing would be to say it's a repaint and that's what I would naturally think too but I cannot prove anything either way. I can see the white PVC underneath the red on the edges of the circle where it has been slightly worn....and the paint is not shiny and matches exactly with the red paint on the cord around the neck. I wish you lived closer Rach as I would be asking for your opinion on this one.....and I might end up sending it to in the end to get your opinion Rach and I will cover the postage costs both ways of course as I do need a 2nd opinion. I will post a pic soon although you really need to see it in the flesh I think to give it a good assessment.

8. TAILOR - This is another error smurf where the Needle, Black Patch & Red Sticthing on blanket, eyes & mouth are all unpainted. It was actually sent to me as a special present which makes it even nicer.

PROMOS:

1. CARL ZEISS BRAINY - I had 2 of these already but this one is a keychain and also has Portugal markings and lighter blue skin whereas the other 2 are Hong Kong W Berrie smurfs.

2. SPORT & FITNESS BODYBUILDER

RAWS:

1. CHEF - white PVC (I had one with WG Schleich Emblem markinsg but this new one is WG Schleich S)

2. SHY - Peyo C, bright yellow raw as opposed to the darker yellow raws I had with these markings.

3. HAMMER - very dark orange....I had the dark orange one but this is slightly darker again. I guess it's probably one of those ones I won't bother adding to the site as the difference isn't that big.

4. PIRATE - white PVC (again I had one with WG CE markings but this one is WG Schleich S)....I know, I'm an idiot....Mrs Dyar told me that earlier too.

5. WEIGHTLIFTER - super smurf, white PVC (I just need a set of weights to go with this so I will probably have to buy another super to get the accessory unless someone has the weights and wants to trade with me.

FAKE RAWS:

1. SPY - blue

2. PRESENT - pinkish red

3. PRESENT - Purple with red bow (I had this purple one with white bow and mouth painted)

FAKES:

I received a ton of those soft and even some of the irritating hard mold fakes. I am sending all of my doubles to JT of these as he wanted to get some for his collection. Some of the fakes I am keeping are:

1. DRUMMER - soft mold with red drum

2. MIRROR - painted all silver

2. COOK - painted all bronze

3. KING - painted all silver with yellow Sceptor

4. PAPA CAPTAIN - CNT with black telescope

5. Not really a fake but I also got the McDonalds Car from 1986 which came with Animal from the Muppets (can anyone confirm that's correct?). This car is almost identical with the red super smurf car except it has yellow tyres, head lights and radiator...and no steering wheel...otherwise it looks just like the Schleich one.

OTHER ITEMS:

1. 4 of the really old 1 piece kinder smurfs

2. Smurf head pencil toppers (Quack & Chef)

There were also about 20 spares which were mainly all fakes besides the blue Astro raw.

There are more fakes but they aren't really worth mentioning really.

I will post pics of the best ones when I get a chance.

Sounds like a good parcel Dyar, I'd love to see that Doctor with the red head lamp when you can post a picture :D
Long, long ago, deep in the forest, there was a hidden village where tiny creatures lived. They called themselves the Smurfs. They were good.

Drew,
I only have my smurf packages delivered to work as well - I don't want anyone having my home address -- I might come home to find the smurf express missing  :) :)
And I sent you something to your work addy - you should get it next week :shhh: :-)
:dory: Staci :dory:

Ooh....what can it be?????

If it's Syd....can I return to sender?

Thanks Stace...I love surprises.....hopefully it's an airline ticket :) :)

I will let you know when it arrives at work....and then probably chat to you for a while until the boss catches me......again :o

Here are the pics of that Doc....undr better light the reds probably do look different so I will probably say it's a repaint which is the most logical answer of course.....but it's still pretty well painted so not a bad smurf to have.

Again, a lovely lot of new arrivals at Dyars castle. :-D

Yes the doctor is an interesting one isn't it. I don't think we can write it off just yet, especially after what you said about the reds matching. There is of course already one colour variation with the yellow stethoscope that we know of and that one doesn't make that much sense as there isn't even any other yellow on the figure. Also you say there is no sign of any silver underneath the red and that it is neatly done, which are another two positive points.

I have to admit, I would like to see this smurf in real life so I can take a good look under the light and magnifying lense so if you do fancy sending him on a small vacation to Wales I would certainly love to see him. :sherlock:

The rest of the haul is great too, I of course love the raws and I have to say that the fake raws are really starting to grow on me. I had no idea there were quite so many of them. :-D

That red is almost blood coloured - I hope he's not a killer doctor  :)
Thanks Stace...I love surprises.....hopefully it's an airline ticket
When I win the lottery or a lot of $$ while gambling, you'll be the first to get an airline ticket :D (I didn't say where to though, did I? 8-) :cheek: )
