Hello all, I've recently got some promo smurfs in the mail and one I got was a promo socle. It is red socle with the bowler smurf on reading 'Vivement la Quelle!' on it. I see it in the DSK, but I just wondered if anyone knew what it was a promo of? What company produced it?

Quelle is a huge home shopping company. I remember their catalogs very well from when I lived in Germany.

I have a funny story about it...when I first went back two and a half years ago (back to Germany) one of my male coworkers made me promise him to bring back a Quelle catalog....It was because of the catalog that I had to pay for the overweight suitcases..not the smurfs I got at Passion

My coworker was from Turkey and believe it or not...he loved that catalog and would look at it at work the whole time...kind of freaked me out a bit

I was never to find out what company this should be and IMO it is not a promo. I do not speak any french but with dictionary it means something like "great bowling" but I'm the wrong person for that

May they played with word in french cause "quelle" means nothing related to bowling but quille are the pin in bowling....so that might be an explanation. But for me (I'm french) that's means nothing. Quelle is a french women magazine. So that could mean "Can't wait for the next Quelle"

This is NOT a promo , Tine is correct.

Frank made a mistake in the DSK-if you look closely it is also listed in the regular French sockel pages. This sockel is in both MAFI catalogues in 1984 and 1985 in the regular sockel pages.

Quille is obviously different to quelle and the message marries up perfectly with the bowler!!

It just shows how the DSK needs to be interpreted with caution at times. I know Frank will be taking it off the promo page whenever the next one is published.

To steve: sorry all the English boxes were ones you already had!!
