Hi,

as most of you probably have noticed the smurfs made by Bully the last year they was allowed to sell smurfs 1979, are more common with Bully markings rather than Schleich markings.

I don´t get the math. Schleich started selling these 1980 and Bully was not allowed to sell them anymore. But if you check them maybe 80% are marked Bully. How is this possible? :-? Have you talked about this earlier?

Maybe Schleich and Bully made a deal and Bully still made these smurfs and Schleich sold them for them???

Or Schleich made them but kept the Bully marking for about 3 years before changing it to Schleich???
André

In Sweden the smurfs are blue ( and yellow).

You know I am no good without any pictures..but are you talking about the smurfs that you can get with Bully or the Schleich marking above the Bully?

I always thought those are left overs from Bully that Schleich took over when they started selling them again :-? Most of them look like Schleich smurfs except for the Bully marking on them

BTW...do you keep those two variations..... meaning do you keep them with the Bully and the Schleich marking? Don't have to tell you that I do :)

I mean for example these smurfs on the picture.

Bully made these molds, but was not allowed to sell or make any smurfs after december 1979. So these were only made by Bully for one year, how come almost all are marked Bully.

Bully made all the smurfs with articlenumber 20068 to 20121 between 1974 and 1979. After this Schleich took over or bought these molds from Bully. And in the 1980 catalogue Schleich first have these smurfs as their own. They must have made some kind of deal???? Either to keep the Bullymarking on them and just sell them, or Bully still made them but only Schleich could sell them???

By the way have you noticed that the Schleichmarked alchemist has green stars.

But just like with the jester it is only the schleichmarked Jester and Alchemist with red dot who have the green stars. :-D I know Lia had the same green stars on her Schleich jesters. Let´s see if it is the same with the alchemist if she has it. I know Christy has this version on her website.

And that is also an example Maureen. Eventhough Schleich sold these smurfs for a long time they are very hard to find compared with the Bully marked. So Schleich must have sold them with Bullymarkings. ??? :-?

I think it was something like this.

Schleich sold the Bullysmurfs with Bully marking until 1984( maybe some kind of agreement between them to sell them like this for 5 years :-? ). After this they removed some of the Bullysmurfs and started with the Schleich marking and also somewhere around 85-86 they started with the yearmarking.

And this is why some of these Bullysmurfs that Schleich sold between 1980 and 1985 are very hard to find with Schleichmarking.

For example these smurfs which Schleich removed 85 are very hard to find with Schleichmarking:

20068 Kicker
20072 Trumpet
20077 Naughty
20079 Laughing
20082 Shy
20084 Handstand
20095 Oboist ( was also sold later in the 90s)

All these smurfs Schleich sold for 5 years but they are very rare with Schleichmarkings. I am not sure all of them are possible to find with Schleich markings at all. Maybe only sold like that for one year???? :-?
Has anyone seen laughing and shy with Schleich-marking???

What do you think?

You`re right about the green stars André!
And just last month, I bought a variation of the jester that has different markings and slightly different colors, but also green stars :D
(I have several interesting pictures that I will send to you)
I have no alchemist yet with green stars, but I expect a new magician next week, that I bought as a variation. let`s see...

I also have some smurfy pics with Schleich marking for you!
But I don`t know a laughing or shy :-?

Hi Andre

will email you later.

The only Schleich marking I do not have is the trumpet player-I do not think it exists. All the others I have with the Schleich mark
