I do not know if anyone have posted or mentioned this display before. I noticed it in the SCCI letters and thought it would be a great Picture today when it is Christmas.

I have never seen a picture of the 12 christmassmurfs with cords on a W Berrie poster or in a catalogue by W berrie.

The collectorsbook from Schleich 1986 shows all of them with articlenumbers. But we do not know exactly when they were sold???

Anyway this display described was made by W Berrie in 1982 and used for the 12 christmassmurfs when they were sold in Christmas 1982.

Probably a some of them could have been sold already for Christmas 1981 as seasonalsmurfs??

Have anybody seen this display or do we have a better picture of it? :?

And Another question.

Which ones of the 12 smurfs can be found with Hongkong-markings?
And when this was sold do you Think all 12 smurfs had Portugal ( no CE) markings?

So we know all these were made in Portugal without CE.

But the question is which ones we can find with Hongkong, Portugal CE and China CE markings? :? :-? :D

Is this correct?

Hongkongmarked: 51901, 51903, 51905, 51907( Dyar marked this as a fake???), 51908? and 51909. So 6 Hongkongmarked ones with cords?

One odd thing that I have seen on the eastersmurfs also is that the Hongkongmarked smurfs were blocked and replaced by Portugal on the CE smurfs. I do not know if that was the case on all HK ones?

You see that very easy on this carols smurfette.

Almost makes you Think that this cavity 4 was first marked Portugal, then changed to Hongkong and then back to Portugal again? :-? Do anybody have a cavity 4 Hongkong carols smurfette to compare with?

So which ones can be found with Portugal and CE markings? :?

Is this correct: 51901, 51902, 51903, 51904, 51905 and 51909.

On this Picture from the display Schleich used for the Christmassmurfs with cords in 1992 we can also see the drummer. Have anyone seen the drummer with added CE? Also the last one 51912? With CE?

Never seen those 2 with CE?

Already the year after they changed the smurfs in the catalogue, so maybe only these were the ones with Portugal CE?

When these were sold in 2001 this Picture is shown.

I do not Think the Smurf with sack or Carol Smurfette can be found with China CE, instead you can found them painted with the shiny blue paint like the China ones, but still with the Portugal Ce markings.

So on the Picture you see the Smurf with sack without Ce to the right and then the 2 different CE ones to the left. :D

As far as I know these are the only ones marked China CE you can find? :? :-? :D

So 6 China marked also exists.

This means 12 Portugal.

6 Hongkong.

6 Portugal CE

And 6 China CE.

Could that be correct?

On the websites I have checked collectors say the China-marked papa is made of white material.

But I have one also in red material and painted exactly like the Portugal ones. Meaning yellow pompom, red candycane with White stripes etc.

That one is fantastic quality, like the older Portugal ones and it makes the other China papa looks like a fake. :-?

Do anybody know about fakes of these ones?

I do not like the eyes of the whitematerial China papa I have.

Do any of you have a red material China-marked papa like mine?

So here are the ones I have of 51901.

One thing collectors could look for on pictures in auctions is that the old variations without CE have the cord attached on a different place compared to the CE variations.

The CE variations have the cord attached to the head and the older variations have the cord attached between the smurfs head and the tree.

That is good to know when checking pictures if you are looking for a certain variation.

To me it seems that some of the HK molds were used a lot. This is one of them and I guess they were sold for many years with this marking.

Many of them have different loops and I guess it has to do with which year it was sold. I have both flat and round loops on the HK variations.

And in the 1986 Schleich book you can see that they have different variations on the loops when they show the Picture of all the 12 christmassmurfs with cords.

When they added CE to the mold they attached the cord to the head and also blocked Hongkong. It is easy to see on this mold with cavity 2.

Maybe not that clear on the picture though :-?

So this is the Portugal CE variation.

Here are the 51902 variations I have.

Also on this smurf they moved the place where the cord is attached. On the CE variations it is attached on the front of the head compared to on the older smurfs it is attached to the back of the head.

You can see this also in the new catalogue and on websites.

As said before it could be a good way to find variations on the net? :-? :D

As you see the green colour is different also.
