I have a fascination with movies like Requiem for a Dream, Happiness, P T Anderson movies, smaller, art-housy things as they're referred to here. Those, and RoboCop. :-D

I have to say comedies are my favourite (aka George of the Jungle) or fantasy stuff like Lord of the Rings.

Some of my film faves:

Sleepy Hollow
Pirates of the Caribbean
Le Miserables
Star Wars
Charlie & the Chocolate factory (old version)
Raiders of the Lost Ark
Monty Python films
Long, long ago, deep in the forest, there was a hidden village where tiny creatures lived. They called themselves the Smurfs. They were good.

I love all types of movies from comedy to sci-fi to arthouse and short films to dramas, chick flicks, golden oldies, horrors and thrillers etc etc.

I would have to say that I am a sucker for a great comedy as I love people that make me laugh....but I also love a journey even if the movie doesn't go anywhere and just reveals a great character or story.

It's so hard to list just a few movies as I know I would leave so many out but here are some that I have really liked at some stage of my life:

They Died With Their Boots On
Topper
The Odd Couple
Apocalypse Now
Yellowbeard
Cheech & Chong's Corsican Brothers
Arthur
Back To The Future
Footloose
Serendipity
The Paper
Dogs In Space
Regarding Henry
anything by Monty Python
Dead Poets Society
Rattle & Hum
The Man From Snowy River
Harvey
Shawshank Redemption
The Doors
Support Your Local Sheriff
Party Animal
Star Wars movies
Kentucky Fried Movie
Igby Goes Down
Crackerjack
JFK
Dodge City
Amytiville Horror
Hamlet

This is just off the top of my head so I am probably missing heaps of them....I would sit down and watch any movie though as I am easily pleased.....just give me popcorn and I will sit still.

Well I'm never coming to your house Steve, I hate Vampire movies :scaredy:
I remember seeing a vampire movie called Salems Lot when i was a kid, it scared the hell out of me !! I just can't watch them :scared:

Also Child's Play gave me the heebie- jeebies.
I used to work as a housemaid at a hotel back when i was 17 after school.
I don't know how many times i went into a room to clean and put the key in which turns the lights, air-con and TV on and that bloody movie was on  It was one of the inhouse movies, it scared me every time
:winks: Raelene

We watched Shaun of the dead on Saturday and Brian and Todd kept laughing at me because I was screaming and hiding behind the cushions. I don't like horror films much either, Rae, or Star Wars, and Charlie & The Chocolate Factory has always freaked me out, what's with that four in a bed thing?

I'm not a big movie fan, give me a decent drama any day.

Did Van Helsing have vampires in that movie? .....I didn't notice them actually.....I must of been looking elsewhere. :-?

Salem's Lot.....I remember watching that as a 5 or 6 year old Rae and that used to scare me half to death too but for some reason I loved it because it did put me so much on edge.....I still remember the brother scraping at the bedroom window. :?

The bit in the boat in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is freakier if you ask me. Makes you wonder what these people were on when they were making the film. I like Augustus?? though...what a way to go..drowning in chocolate!

Mrs Doubtfire is pretty funny Graham :D

According to Mrs Dyar...Van Helsing did have vampires in the movie, infact they had quite a lot of vampires.....it had Kate Beckinsale in it...I knew that much because I was discussing with Mrs D how she looked bigger in that film to other ones......vampires.....wow.....I will have to watch that movie again and pay attention to the other actors.

Willow....that is an absolute classic Robyn......I love the brownies :D

Postby Bunno Smurf » Tue Mar 21, 2006 6:42 am
The Princess Bride is a classic too. Very funny. The guy who plays Westley is the same guy who plays Robin in Robin Hood - Men in Tights.....another very funny movie! I quite like spoofs if they are done well.

My other favourite comedies would have to be:

George of the Jungle - "Nobody dies in this movie...they just get really big boo boos!"
The Three Amigos
Wayne's World
Shrek

I'm sure there's stacks more but I can't think of them at the moment.

Shawshank Redemption was another top movie. I also liked The Green Mile.
